Mic not being recognized or not being configured to be used

I discovered this a while ago....
Turns out that I was recording with the mic of my webcam!
I have a headset so I would like to use its mic instead of the mic of the webcam but I can`t find a way to make my headset mic work for this pc!

When I go to Sound and Audio Devices in the control panel, then in the Voice tab, there are the following options for recording:
- Audio USB Device
- HD Audio Capture
- CamSuite Virtual Audio

As you can see there is no option for my headset mic. I tested all of them and the only one workig is Audio USB Device (My webcam)

Also, I know the mic is working because I tested it in my brother's PC.

Did your microphone come with a disc? Also are you plugging it into the USB or are you using the coded jacks and plugging them in. If you want to record you will have to put it into the pink jack but on the computer I have there's a microphone symbol and you plug it into there.

I know those stuff... I tested it in my brother's pc and it worked, but not here
